Buy one and you will love it I did. I used to have a 05 RX-1. I wanted something with better suspension and lighter. Well I got it in a Nytro fx rtx. Ride is awesome and a light sled and I love it. I have a friend who says no better sled than a rev Well he rode it about a month ago and said it alright. Well the next day he went and bought a Nytro FX. So if you get the chance to ride one do it you will love it. Seen for 09 it will come in a crossover model.

Well a stellar 600 plus miles thrown down on the nytron odometer after the ST ride and no mechanical issues as yet... I will say the tall seat and low rider boards is a blessing to any with any type of knee issues... My massive life change'n events I will save for the Dooedco suspense novel to be published in the future about the past...

as of 2008, comparing yamaha to ski doo is like comparing oranges to oranges. I truly mean it. You're not gonna go wrong buying a new yamaha or ski doo. Both companies generate quality machines that last and thats the key especially in the snowmobiling world. I understand I may have "overrated" the new xtx nytro but u gotta test ride this sled, cuz its gonna take your sledding to the next level. That i can promise you. You gotta think outta the box with these new sleds. just cuz it lookes like twisted piece of metal don't mean its junk.

Currently in my life change'n events I've noticed fuel totals at fillups is not as much coin as previous and throw'n down a quart of oil every tank is a thing is all in the past...

I think I'd better stay away from a Yami 4-stroke as would equate to more beer money, probably not a good thing! ;)

My friend just got one. He has put about 1000 miles on it so far. He loves it! It isn't as fast on the top end as my RXWARRIOR, but for practical trail rideing it can hang with anything out there. As far as looks go, I still prefer the older style sit down sleds, but when I look at this thing, I see quality fit and finish throughout. It;s lighter than mine too!

you know everyone says weight is a big issue. I say ride one of those tanks down the trail, sensibly of course, and you won't even notice the weight. Now if you want to use it for other types of riding, that's were it may or may not make a differance. The only time i notice the "WEIGHT" is when I am trying to pick up the backend to break up all the ice build up from all the riding I've done. ;) I don't want to sound mean but when i am in the trail catching up to a two stroker: i can usually smell you before i can see you. That's when I have to be careful because for some reason your exhaughts fumes seem to burn my eyes...

I agree! I can smell 2-Stokes long before I catch them. My friend agree too.

o.k. now i have to ask why doo's was so thick. is the oils that "sleds" use is that different in viscosity?

First : Go take a dive into a lake or somethig...chill out...

Second: don't say "MOST snowmobiles" ever... that implies you are speaking for me too...and you already know where i stand. Speak for yourself...

Third: If you like that smell that is fine...I could care less...Last i checked a differance of opinion is why my brother is on his second tour... If you can't handle peoples differences don't read the posts...could shatter your little boxed world!

Finally: Weight is the number one complaint...a responsible manufacture if they want to stay in buisness would address the number one complaint whether it be ligitimate or not. Money makes the world turn my friend...not hope, peace, or love.

Sorry to shatter your world!

10 blocks - think you can walk that far. sorry just rubbing you. lol - for real i hope you get some good working knees, so you can get on that new creation of yours.
don't you be getting outside your box either. lol
i think yami needs to take a chill pill. everybody here is entitled to their opinion.

You made a couple of very big assumptions about me so let me return the favor. I figure that by your first replay you were a hot head so i replyed accordingly. Based on your second response you are still a hot head. Association with someone like you is not good for a sport that is already under careful watch. You say you can accept the differances but the first chance you got you started bashing...

There are over 200,000 registered snomobiles in Minnesota alone. MOST implies at least 51%, I highly doubt that you have spoken of this particular issue with 100,000 people. So the use of MOST is still inaccurate.

Let me clear the air for you: I have not brand bashed anyone in my previous post. In fact YOU assume so, as well as YOU assumed that i think Yamahas are the best.

My first post suggest for people to go out and test ride a four stroke or as i call them the TANKS when compared to a two stroke. It doesn't matter what the brand is... as you have stated many maunfacture make four strokes...again YOU assumed i was talking about Yamaha. My next comments are based on my particular opinion, of which your response was for me to quit snowmobiling.---sounds like because i don't agree with you, you want to take away my right to my opinions and ride...

I am sorry if you think i ment for you to kill yourself. If i wanted to tell you to kill yourself it would have sounded something like this "why don't you take your snowmobile and yourself and go sit on some thin ice". My first statement is a metaphor to tell you to CHILL OUT dude. Of course it went right over you because your a HOT HEAD!

Time to listen up! Enough of the bashing. I'm in no mood for it. If you want to continue sharing useful information with the members, FINE. If not, then take it to the PMs and into a private domain. This is the only request.

Paul its largely due to the pourpoint rating on the oil which is not always easy to get from the OEM manufactures oil but should be available. Also as example even though I'm 50% smokeless now and the Citgo sea and snow I use is rated at -44 pourpoint which is the temperature the oil ceases to flow and if its that cold I'm not head'n out to the sledcicle...

Gander mountain throws down a mere $9.99 a gallon $3 a qt, the farm and fleet also carry it at $12 gallon $3.50 a qt its semi synthetic blend and has one of the lower pourpoints I've noticed...

I'm not so concerned on the "tonnage" factor of the new Nytro as I am the shoddy rear suspension. Is the super pro-action or whatever the skid on the RTX is called any better than the mono?

What about handling? I thought that was typical sub-par Yammie as well?

I do like the 09 XTX though....wonder why they didn't call it XTC?

Yamirx1

If they are using the pro-active similar to the 03 rx1 than i think it will be better than the mono. I have that mono-RA and i have had that suspension out twice already this year and all i was able to ride was a whooping 500 miles. Actually my dial still doesn't work right so it looks like i'm going to have to take it out agian. our 03rx1 suspension has actually held up the best when compared to my 05rx1 and our 06Apex.

Rode #2 in line behind a 600sdi gade over the weekend never had a problem keep'n a ski tip stuffed in his flap. As a added benifit at the pump he squeezed out an xtra gallon in the hole... The FX rear supension is a typical torsion spring setup which is similiar to the other manu's the RTX is just more the setup for Johnny Jumpers wit some teeth jar'n shock setups...

Last Weekend I Rode A New Nytro, The Motor & Clutching Was Very Impressive. Very Torquey The Full Power Band & Very Linear, But The Suspension & Handling Sucked. Maybe It Was Not Set-up For Aggresive Trail Riding. Yammy Has The Motor & Clutching Dialed In
Pretty Good, But Needs Alot Of Work On The Suspension Set-up.
Looking @ The First Post I Thought We Were Going To Change My Life. Than We Were Talking About Oil. I Use Ski-doo Synthetic Blend And I Have Had Very Good Luck With It. Also My Sled Weighs A Ton.
Dooed, Your Are More Than Welcome To Stuff Your Ski Tip Under My
Flap Lol.

Woa, woa - WOA! This is a family forum. Nobody should be sticking their ski under anyone else's flap....at least not without buying them dinner first. LOL!!!

LET ME EXPLAIN MYSELF TO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE DIRTY MINDS. I MET DOOED @ THE INVASION RIDE AND ENJOYED HIS COMPANY, EVEN IF HE RIPPED ON ME ABOUT THE BRAND OF SLED I RIDE. I WOULD ENJOY RIDING W/HIM @ ANY TIME. I INVITE HIM @ ANY TIME TO GET OUT HIS BIG BORE YAMMY, AND TRY TO STICK HIS SKI TIP UNDER MY FLAP. I HOPE YOU NOW GET IT!
