Not sure what's wrong?

I have a 96 Pantera and was riding this weekend when -- the headlights started dimming, then the tach started bouning all over the guage and finally quit working, then as i stopped at a few stop signs the engine just quit? Restarted fine, and the engine sounds good. Any one have any ideas i would appreciate some suggestions. - thanks!:confused:

sounds like a bad ground wire.i would check around engine compartment and look for any loose or unconnected wires

i would take a good look at your stator wires one or two might be coming apart or getting pinched somewhere. i had one get pinched under jackshaft and started grounding out and it did the same thing.

Thanks for those suggestions, i'll be bringing it into the garage tomorrow and will check the wires out.
