As many of you know, I've been having some medical issues lately. I went to a bone cracker for the first time today. She tells me that my spine is really far out of whack. What do you all think of doctors vs. bone crackers?

My opinion is that each has its own ups and downs.

Doctors (MD's) have more medical training, but are often bound by what an insurance company will let them do as far as procedures.

Chiro's seem to have more understanding of the muscles and how things relate to each other. However, in my opinion chiro's are like therapists though-they'll never tell you that you are cured, because it would put them out of a job!!!;)

Here's another thought for you: At Christmas my wife asked for a professional body massage. I found a place and got her a gift certificate. She went about three weeks ago and just loved it! She said for the first time in months her shoulders and neck weren't sore or fatigued. I could tell it was worth it just by the grin on her face (which lasted for about three days!). She thinks I should keep "reloading" the gift card so she can go back every couple of months. Which tells me that she really noticed a difference in how she felt after. I don't know how you feel about this option, but I thought I'd throw it out there for you.

Do what makes you feel best-that's the only thing that is important!!

Been to both for my back . Doc gave me pain killers for it and some exersizes to do . The bone cracker found the problem and got it fixed . Plus I got to get hydro threapy for my back . But to each his own opinion will be formed . I haven't had one problem with my back since and that was 7 years ago .

Good luck 2doo and hope your feeling better !!!!

if you have never been to a bone cracker i would say go!!! it feel great. yes your going to have to go back 3 times a week then 2 times a week then once a week and so on. you walk straiter feel better. oo and if they put you on the (ummmm) machine that shocks your muscles. that is wonderfull. Then they will give ya some stretchs and excersises. Its worth it. MD just give you pills back crack acctuly fix the problem. Since every nerv in your body goes to your backbone.

I would get a full set of good x-rays and maybe an MRI done to see the actual extent of injury or damage. You could have a real issue that an orthopedic surgeon may need to repair, in which case, once it's fixed, hopefully the issue will be resolved. However, if it is something that you can live with by seeing a chiropractor a couple times a month (or more), then go that route. In any case, get a full series of complete x-ray s and scans done to see what the future may hold. A good, honest chiro. will admit it if he/she sees something that they cannot resolve for you. Others will suck every dime they can from you and your insurance for as long as you continue to return to their office. That's my beef with chiropractors, but hey, some swear by their chiropractor. Clear as mud now huh?

Get a hold of Anthony Oberti (Backcracker) in the Cali forums. He's a bonecracker and may have some ideas for ya.

Well after 2 visits to the chiro, I am feeling better and I can actually move my head farther than I ever could before. The down side is, unless I just need to give it time, I don't think its going to fix my problem. I have been noticing that I don't feel worth a crap in the morning. And no, I don't drink so I can't blame it on that.

usually when i go to the chiro the first couple time after a length of time away it feels like he makes it worse but if you keep it up and let him get everything back to were it belongs it is worth it. usually for me i go like twice a week for a couple weeks then once a week for a couple then back to as needed. the only thing i found was go to one that actually cracks your back. i found the otherone i went to that used a little clicker thing to adjust me didnt help me at all.

Currently, I am going once a week getting 1 through 7 C adjusted. Mostly 1,2,and3. They deal with Nervousness, dizziness, and sinus issues. Still too soon to tell whats working and whats not. I feel great leaving the office though.
