my '02 600 xc has run great the couple of times that i have had it out this year but it loses coolant. now there are no visible leaks in any of the hoses that i can see when its running or when i shut it off. when it had not been run for a few weeks i filled the level up to the cold line and ran it in my yard a little, it blew all of the antifreeze that i put in it out the breather tube. so i left it at the level it was at, rode it for the weekend it never got hot, but now its leaking a litte out of the belly pan and the level is about 2 or 3 inches from the bottom of the jug after i released the pressure by loosening the cap on the jug. any suggestions anyone. (i don't think that sounds like a head gasket, am i wrong) if so what else could it be.

I had the same thing happen to my 02 edgeX. If I remember right, there was a service bulletin on those. I took it to my dealership and I believe they changed the coolant bottle and mud flap. I had the short mudflap on mine. Haven't had it happen again since. Hope this kinda helps.

The cold line on the recovery bottle is wrong. If you put anymore than 3-4" of fluid in the bottle it will blow it out when it gets warm. I found this out the hard way on my brothers sled.
The service bulletin was on the 01' 600's.

Easy way to tell if you have a bad head gasket is with the cap off is there black bubles in the bottle, if so you have a leaking head gasket.

The bottles have been known to warp and not seal but if yours pushed coolant out the hose, then the bottle and cap are sealing.

if i were to replace the coolant bottle, does anyone know if there is anything special you would have to do besides just change it and fill it. do i have to bleed out the system or anything like that.

yes you would need to bleed it out as normal.
