I have a polaris indy that only idles 4 like 20 seconds. If I hammer on the gas it will make a low droning sound and almost clunk out. But if i hit the gas slow it is ok. Are the carbs dirty??? Any info appreciated. thx:confused:

I've had sleds do that. Cleaning the carbs is a good first step. It's a cheap fix and even if that wasn't it the sled probably needed it!! Also check the wear on the drive belt. If you have a stand make sure everything underneath is able to move free as well. Chances are the carbs are the problem. It could also be a fuel pump issue. And from experience.......is the gas turned on?! Good luck!

B4 ya take everything apart, run a can of "seafoam" through see if that helps that stuff really works good.

sounds like you could use a good cleaning and fresh gas . Before you tear her apart take the carb cleaner and with idling the rubber boot on the motor side . if it revs up need new boots . Take your time and do it right the first time .

I run a can of seafoam through first thing every year...don't pay attention to what it says on the back, dump the whole can in...she'll be smokey, but you'll see a difference. Otherwise, if its sat alot, good odds its a carb problem, I'd pull 'em apart and clean 'em out real good...it can't hurt anything.

I would drain the fuel tank and get rid of the old gasoline. A few years ago I had the same problem with starting and starving for fuel. I took it to the dealer and he drained the tank, refilled with fresh fuel, changed the plugs and it started right up. Now I use Stabil every spring before storing the sleds.

Clean carbs and pay attension to the pilot jet. (not the main jet, not the needle jet, the pilot jet)
