maintanence help?

what's a good indication that your water and/or oil pump is going out? i mean, before you seize the motor.

also, generally what's a good time to rebuild suspension, namely fox and clutches? my sled has about 4600 miles on it and its a 1996...and i figure i should probably get that stuff done.

any other maintanence tips would be very helpful.

If you haven't done the skid it needs to be done. I never realized how many bushing can go in there, it rides totally different when you replace them all. Re-did my XT w/ all new bushings welded shafts to correct Diameter, and rebuilt the shocks it's like a totally different skid.


Look at all the pivot point and check for cracked rails, w-arms, etc... Also when you have the skid out replace the bearing you can't get too and the rest if they are questionable.

I should warn you it can be failry expensive Your Cat prices will vary but my XT was about 300(shocks rebuilt, bearings bushings, slides) and the DX was about 120(no shock rebuild otherwise the same.)
