Does anyone know how long the XC's will last for? mileage wise?
i'm looking at one with 3800 miles on it, and i dont want to buy something that i'll have to replace in 2 years.
if anyone has an XC, how many miles do you have on it?
Thanks in advance!

I have a 99 XC 500 with 6665 miles. It is now my back-up/buddy/daughter sled. The sled runs great.

I just recently got rid of an 01 and 03 polaris 600 xc sp's. We had over 7000 miles on each of them and the only that we ever replace was the track. I say she still has some miles left on her!

it really depends on how the sled was used before and how it was stored, and some plain luck.. Also how much and how are you going to use it..
I had a 2000 Polaris XCSP 700 and it was breaking pretty fast, track, enginge, suspenion etc etc etc..

Rule of thumb don't beat the snot out of it and it will most likely last longer.

well, if you dont beat it, and take care of it, you can get more then 10k miles
oh and store it inside covered.

Polaris xc chasis is one of the best they have made. Alot depends on how the sled was stored, covers hauled, and rode. In the garage the trak and skis should be off the ground, always hauled in an inclosed trailor or non-enclosed covers with salt/slush gaurd with skie ties downs and the rear suspension maxed down so its not bouncing (more or a trailering thing). Pay attention to who rode it. If they are old couples most likly they took it to the dealer and all service was done there correctly. NOT ALWAYS A GOOD DEAL IF A WOMAN PREVIOS DRIVER. We ran across a case where an old couple own a sled and the wife rode it and ran it out of oil and burnded it up. Ouch! The xc chasis can handle up to 10,000 at a max. If I where you id expect to keep it for around 6000. Depending on your trail riding and how much you do it wont be the keep up lead sled or hottiest machine on the trail but it will last you your money worth dont pay more than 2000 for it though or you might be dissapointed in a hurry even if you get a minor error wiht it. Polaris are tough running sled and expect to get more from them in the future. They will be taking a break for making new sleds and keeping a chasis, but belive me when they come back the sled theve built will be top of the class.

My brother and I both have 2003 600 XCSP's. His has just under 16,000 and mine just over 15,000. We put on 5-7,000 miles a season.
Both sleds have been used exclusively on trails and forest roads and are very well maintained both during the Winter and the offseason. Motor, clutch, tracks, ski's all original.
Both sleds are now back-ups as he rides a 4 stroke Yammie and I now ride a 2005 600XCSP except when my wife rides then I ride my faithful buddy.
