Headin' to Minoqua for my birthday!!!

Hey all, my wife and I are heading to Minoqua for a long weekend of fun in the snow. Arriving on Feb 5th and departing on the 8th. We'll be staying at The Waters resort. So, I'm looking for suggestions and some "must see" stops. Any waterfalls, hilltops, scenery, overlooks..etc... we should head to? Any ST'ers familiar with the trails gonna be there????

    Can't Wait!!!!

    Minocqua

Some great trails right out of the door of the Waters Resort, Hop on the Bearskin Trail and head south for a ways. Great pit stops for food. Head north and cross Lake Minocqua for some of the best Trails in the Northwoods. Grab a Trail map at the Waters front desk and You will be all set. Stay a little longer and You would be able to attend Cruiserfest the weekend of Feb. 13th & 14th. Radar runs, Pancake breakfast and a huge silent auction. Enjoy Your stay and feed the Trail pigs at your local pit stops. Don't forget the ride north toward Watersmeet Mi. and a look at Bond Falls. Great sights and sounds. Click on link below to see a map of Minocqua area Trails. #78 is the Waters resort.

Thanks!! That's a start. She just started riding last year, so this is gonna be a huge treat for her....yeah, OK...me too!!! LOL She's only had a chance to ride the trails of southern WI that get a foot of snow at best on 'em. I've been up in Yooper land several times, but would like to try somewhere different for a change. I'm doing the long distance snow dance

Id head northwest of Minocqua if it were me, thats where the trails are usually the best.
When Im up in the area I stay at my parents' place in St Germain and we almost never even bother riding south of Minocqua or over towards Eagle River because the trails are usually pretty bad.
We ride more over in the Sayner area because the trails are usually great over there.
Im pretty familiar with the area (Ive been snowmobiling in that area since
'92), but I wont be up there at that time.
