    Angry 99 ZL600 EFI Problems

    I am working on this seld for a friend, it will run when you first start it and when you hit the throttle, it will bog out and will either die, or run real rough on one cylinder. Replaced the coil, wires, and new plugs but still the same problem. You can spray starter fluid in air box and will run fine. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? I'm out of ideas.

    I have a 99 ZR 600 EFI and I had sort of the same problem but the sled was feeding to much fuel and bogging out. I found out it was a vacuum problem so check on that.

    common problem

    i know the throttle safety switch is a common problem on these sleds but i am not sure how to bypass it but i would try that

    Older cats had the notorious magnets on top of the carbs that would do that. Magnets were glued to the tops of the slides to indicate where they were to prevent stuck throttle.

    To check this just unscrew the cap on the slides and see what you find when you pull one out(you should be able to see it if this model has them)

    EFI issues, compression, bad gaws, fuel filter, no slides in the fuelies, dead spot in the throttle position sensor all I can think of right now, crank seals

    how to check crankseal

    to check the crankseal, spray starter fluid on the clutch side of the engine when on idle and if it revs up you need a new crankseal
