Smile Any info on Z1 or Z1 turbo

I am in the market for a new sled and am looking at a F8 LXR or a Z1 or a Z1 turbo. Aside of the price what is the major pros and cons of the 4 strokes. I know the noise and fuel mileage but what about the weight and performance offsetting that or a total handling and comfort.

I bought my wife a F5 last year(in pink) and the ride and weight and handling are great but is it worth the extra money for the Z1? I currently ride a 2000 Triple touring and love the machines ride and performance but after riding a friends F8 and a 800 renagade ski doo the technology is far superior to mine and an update is due.

So which one???????????????? I am a cat person so the Ski Doo is out and beside I can rib the friend that rides a ski doo if i don't, althou my second choice is a Rev chassis. I perfer a 600 but cat saw no reason to improve their 600 and only have 1 choice in a 600 Sno Pro. The 600 E-TEC is a great choice and cat will lose people if they do not address this next year. I waited for a mid season 600 but did not appear so maybe I should hold off till next. I need to stimulate the economy and Obama has not offered any help to the snowmobile industry. That another thread. Please any input is good.

I'd stick with sumpthin around 120hp stock the big blocks are nice if yer gonna be run'n the lake all day or scratch'n the sides of mountains,,, butt fer trail ride'n most 6hundos have plenty of power... As far as the e-tec I'm not hear'n rave reviews performance wise butt if ya wanna save on the fuel and oil coins its the sled for you...

It would be hard to pass up some of the deals on leftover cats right now. I've seen some cheap Z1's and maybe 1 decent deal on a Z1 turbo. Lots of F8s and Crossfire 1000s on the cheap.

Of course Doo has the best thing going right now....lol...but it sounds like the 2010 F8 is looking pretty good too.

    Cool Z1 to F8

As an owner of a '07 JagZ1 i have to admit Cat sold a disappointing sled to me, as well as many others.... I climbed off an '04 Sabercat 700 to get the Z1 and the power is pathetically comparable to a 500cc to a 600cc. I have tried to reach 100 mph numerous times, and in perfect conditions DID hit 101mph. ( I had time for multiple beers before it reached that three digit arena ) The ride and handling are very good, very smooth and quiet - (as expected with a 4 stroke ) No problems whatsoever mechanically with the machine after 4300 miles in the Tomahawk, Wi area. I am 58 yrs. old and cannot stand to go another winter without some sort of rush when pegging the throttle, so on Saturday October 31st i will pick up my new ( '09 leftover ) F8LXR. If ya go with a JagZ1 u will have to learn how to corner all over again.... you need very little brake ! Kinda neat actually, after ya ride it for a couple hundred miles....... Wow ! 177 horsepower on the new Z1......
HHhmmmmm.... Great sleddin' to all of ya !
