As always a great report from a neighbor to the north! Glad to see you are reporting Bayfield conditions again this year.

We're coming up on sleds on Friday thru Ashland Co. How is the snow depth @ Washburn and the trail along the bay from Ashland? We're headed for Corny, but would like to tank off in Washburn if possible. If it's too thin, we'll fill @ Ashland and go up thru the forest.

Mikay. As of Sunday, TR13 South of Washburn was not groomed but there were track. I never ride that section and seldom TRI3 west to the PubNGrub advise going to the Moquah Spur and north where there is better snow. But gas prices will be at premium rate at the Pub.

An update after our abbreviated ride today due to getting seriously stuck in a wet area on TR1 just east of Happy Hollow Road between Cornie and Bayfield. I do not advise riding TR1 until further notice. The section needs to freeze over.

In addition, logging is taking place on TR31 south of Star Route and north of Valhalla. It is not passable as the gate on TR 31 and Star Route is closed.

I do not advise riding north of Star Route unless you know the area well. That means access to Bayfield is questionable if not difficult to impossible.

We had fun breaking trail on a couple of forest roads that had not seen any traffic.

We had good riding the past three days. Forest roads provide good conditions with loose snow on less traveled FR's and 4-5" base on the packed FR's Trail conditions varied from poor (TR31) to good TR19/41/40.

Looks like the whole area could receive some additional snow on Christmas.

Took a 115 mile ride this PM and found good riding. The snow is very moist and provides a deep and solid base. The groomers are working the trails after the storm and should have the system touched by Tuesday.

Real good riding up here with up to 2 feet of snow, deep and solid base and 4"6" of fresh snow.
