05 RX 1 speedo trouble?

Any ideas on why a 05 Yamaha speedo whould quit working? Sometimes, it will register between 3-7 mph when I'm going around 35-40, and sometimes when I go really slow, it will register 35-45 mph. It just started doing this, and the only changes made to the sled are that I put on a new belt.--The speedo did work correctly for 3.1 miles after the new belt. I really don't want to take the sled to the dealer, because the days left to ride around here are dwindeling. Any help would be great. Thanks alot!

Found it. clutch side bearing on drive shaft exploded! Drove it that way for at least 75 miles! --did not hurt anything but the speedo sensor, which may be salvagable too. Guess I got lucky.
