    Give em a break!

Have to rant about this, I can not stand when people trash freshly groomed trail that has not had time to set up. I'm talking about meeting the groomer on the trail and then jumping on the OPPOSITE side of the trail and trash the fresh trail and completely destroying what that operator had just layed down. I can understand if its super mogeled out and you want to ride the smooth stuff but when its not even bad on the side your riding on and then trash the good stuff.......%&&^((T%$^%(**(). I just had a case of it this morning , tryed to get out there before the traffic hit and walla two idiots went by and before they were even out of my sight they crossed over and started riding the new pack.

FYI, snow needs time to "freeze together" and make a trail that will last all day and more, if you ride it and break it up it is pointless to groom and clubs are basicly wasting diesel. I know its unavoidable in high traffic areas but here in S. WI weekday traffic is light and we normal can groom once in the middle of the week and they stay good till Sunday. So if you see a groomer out please avoid fresh trail if at possible, that way everyone can enjoy smooth trails and clubs wont go broke!

great point, but most likley those doing this, and there on every trail out there, do not belong to a club & for the most part care about nothing other than there own well being. But I agree with you 100%

I just had a case of this early this week. I was riding a mile or so behind the groomer, just chuggin' along nice and easy to preserve what he was doing. No one was ahead of or behind me so I was in no hurry. So here I am, taking it easy on the groomed side, my side, and just layin' way back. I let myself get about 2 miles back, when all of a sudden, on a blind hill of all places, these 3 jackA*&^ come over the hill, on my side, because it was freshly groomed. The first riders' ski missed my ski by about a foot, the second rider missed me by a couple feet, and the 3rd had a couple extra seconds to react and get over. Snow from all 3 of these clowns' sleds hit my helmet. But as I continued on my way, I noticed that those 3 sleds absolutely destroyed the groomers' work. Riding on fresh grooming is nice and all, but NOT when it means crossing over on a blind hill. Needless to say I was a little frosted!!!!! End of Rant.....Hats off to all groomer operators in southern WI this season...it's been one of the best in years in our neck of the woods. Never had to trailer once this year.

we just got back from riding and the dame deal here. Just out of Iron River the groomer was starting out and sure enough some knob at every stop sign had to show everyone how far he can trench right through every thing. DumbA$$ of course there was no shortages of DA'es out there today. Really do you need to come skidding around a corner on my side of the trail...really...right at the top of a hill...really....Fools...

I completely agree with you stoich! Your FYI section was very good too!

Freshly groomed, or not...the throttle jockeys that sweep any and every friggin corner clean making an ice skating rink at every bend is what really frosts my arse.

Amen, take the wild riding to the track and quit wrecking the trails everybody pays for. Of coarse racing takes skill and brains, so on second thought take it to the ditches!
