This is always a big ? on m/c boards, so I'll ask here, what brand of oil do you run in your 2-stroke machine and why. Does one smoke more or less? Particular brand in certain machine work better than another? Let the games begin!

Oil?.....in a two stroke?.....never heard of such a thing. If ya really wanna have fun with this, post it on Dootalk. It's always a winner there. You might not get many players here on ST. At least I'd hope not anyway.
I would suggest the use of Formula XPS full syntethic in all sleds. Why? I used to race a WI Sport Truck that was powered by a sled engine in summer, My son currently races a sno-cross sled and all have that in them. Most Pro champ ice oval sleds run the stuff. It has superior lubrication and it makes power. I had Mike Weinenat has a engine builder. He hasbuilt engines for Jeff Ludwig in ovals for years and has won the ER vintage many of times. I always ran Amsoil but he showed what that stuff (Amsoil) does to the bottom of engines. Not good. Plus when we ran XPS in my engine it had a 3 hp more difference. Amsoil burns so clean and you can have ring problems alot and xps like coats the piston. Good stuff for rings and heat too. Thats my suggestion
Citgo sea n snow... Low pour point and semi syn for less two smoke...
To everybody using Citgo sea and snow:
Stopped at fleet farm today, they had no gallons so i asked worker what was up. He said they are changing it to Mystic sea and snow, same oil different name and didnt know when it will hit the shelves. Just FYI. Anybody hear anything about this?
I am beginning to believe that oil maybe the single biggest fleecing of all in this sport. I have been gouged on Polaris parts before, like when I broke the "plastic" idle adjustment screw on one of the carbs and was charged over $15 for a friggin 1-1/4" plastic screw!!!
Now Polaris gets over $40 a gallon for oil!!! WTF? That's $10 worth of oil for every tank of gas we use!!!
I have a question, "Which oil smells the best coming out of the pipe?" If I am going to have to pay that kind of money it might as well smell pretty coming out of my exhaust!
Has anyone used Sea & Snow in a Mercury Outboard ?
Have a 175 hp oil injected and it's the same thing with the price on the Quicksilver oil.
I believe Polaris is replacing VES Gold with VES Gold Plus which up here comes to over $42 per gallon with tax. Since I have never own a sled new enough to still be under warranty I'm making the switch to Sea and Snow. Whatever happens...Happens! I feel after reading numerous boards and threads on the subject that I will be just fine with my decision.
I'm surprised Polaris doesn't put the word Gold at the end of every product and part they sell, like the way they do with their oil, since they charge like everything they have is Gold!![]()
