It is a sunny Thursday morning with temps at 11 degrees. The trails in Eagle River are in real need for SNOW. Conditions are Poor to Fair in most areas with the exception of some woods/out in the country riding.

There is riding as I report in the woods & in the far north parts of Vilas County. For that reason the TRAILS REMAIN OPEN. Each winter sledding season there are questions on how long the trails can remain open.

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN VILAS COUNTY WILL REMAIN OPEN, conditions permitting, UNTIL 12 MIDNIGHT ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31ST

We are at that point of "adventure sledding". Trails in & near town or along roads are poor with a few a fair. Out farther conditions do improve but all trails need more snow. It's time for one of the March "dumps" of wet snow!

Grooming has stopped until we get more SNOW fall.

Catfish Lake Loop & Eagle Lake Trail are smooth & covered with lots of SNOW. No need to talk about surface slush as it is way too cold for that. Stay by the orange reflective marker barrels. There are ice fisherman out on both lakes so give them a wide berth. 100 feet is good.

At this point I will NOT be updating the trail report everyday UNLESS THE CONDITIONS CHANGE.....like a great big snow storm! That would be teriffic.

THINK MORE SNOW & COLD! Let the Snow Dance begin!

See ya on the trails real soon!
