nice job on the pics! Racin was good, but what happened to the swap part of the event? We didnt see anything getting swapped.
OK....WOW!!! what a day!! 20hrs and FINALLY back home.
It was a first time event. The swap was a little slow...LOL. But the racing was good. I think it was pretty good for a first time event, and the weather that came through the night before.
The day had a lot of things stacked against it from the beginning, but it came over really well.
I left yesterday morning about 5:30a, and pulled in the driveway this morning at 1:37a. Then up at about 8:30a this morning.
I talked to Troy from Racing-Extreme at about 6:30a from the road. He said he was standing in about 6" of water on the starting line, but the rain was done.
I have to tell you, they did a FANTASTIC job at getting the track done. They got 3 lanes dones, but the return lane was still under water, so they used the 4th lane for the return line.
They only had about a 2hr delay, then it was racing as usual.
It was a good turnout being the first year for it and the weather that preceded. A lot of people commented they didn't think there was any way they would have it considering how much it rained the night before.
I was right next to the announcers stand by the track.
Here are some shots of the event.
Here is some of the action from the track:
Here is my set up:
Here is photographer and the one model getting to know each other before the shoot.
I think the pictures are going to be really cool. We waited until after dark, then turned on the X-Mas trees lights for the grass drags and that for lighting.
The girls did an awesome job. I can't wait to see the proofs later this week.
I met a few Snowtrackers that showed up. That was cool to see you guys. Paul and son, Rob...excellent. Can't wait to ride this winter.
I also met (who I will call Bill, to keep anonymous) Bill. He is the head of mountain sled division for BRP. He REALLY liked the mountain sled, and a lot of the bracing that was done. He also gave me a couple additional suggestions.
We spoke for about 45 minutes. He grilled me several things, and why I did them. I then greilled him on some stuff. He gave me honest answers, which I was VERY pleased to get.
He took my information, and said I would be hearing from him. I hope so.....
The next event will be Oct 23. I am taking the old mountain sled, and She-La's new sled.
That is supposed to be even bigger than this one.
you met up with some Snowtrackers also didn't ya? LOL
more swappers and vendors would if been a good site also.
the raw burgers weren't workin. and run out of H2O.
the races were real good.
is it just me, or are there a few of us that prefer to retain the friends they have and don't really care to make new ones? I was there, and the only one from here that i saw, I wasn't too impressed with just from the "I'm better than you" attitude that I was picking up. Like I said though, the racing was good
