Hayward, WI area... how are the trails?

Well guys me and some buddies are heading up to hayward on the 13th. How are the trails up there? They got 3 or 4 days in the next week with a chance of snow so that is promising but how are the trails right now? We are staying at Big Musky and want to try and head north (or which ever way the trails are best)...

The good news is you are staying on the Flowage and can zip around on it. The bad news is the area needs about 6 inches of snow snow for decent riding and I don't see that in the forecast. Maybe some locals will know some fire roads you can take to the north.

We have been riding all week. I would rate trails leading north off Flowage as fair. We went to Ray Jay's for breakfast on Tuesday then on to Chief Lake Lodge, Deer Path and back to the Wheel Inn before settling near my home base near Lost Land Lake. They are very rideable.

If you are looking for more snow when you get here, I would find your way to Red Deer on Lost Land Lake and take Trail 3 up to the Namakagon Area and beyond. Went to Vahalla area yesterday for lunch. There is more than enough snow up there. It's a little thin around Mason towards Ashland County but most all of Bayfield is good to excellent!

Bayfield County is full steam ahead with their grooming efforts!
