I doubt it's the site, it's no doubt the reporters themselves. No snow, no reports. Although I have noticed a big decline in use and postings on this site latley.

This site is all screwed up. Bob needs to spend some time and fix it. None of the report are working. This was the best site for reports now it is a joke..

Trail reports are behind schedule due to the lack of snow through out the reporting areas. Report postings are at the discretion of the reporter not Snowtracks.com. If you know a reporter for a area and they are not reporting please contact them and urge them to post a report good or bad,.

If you have feed back on the site please feel free to contact our main office at: 773-539-4775 and speak to Jason or drop him an e-mail at: jason@outnetwork.com

Talking Just got back last week from Watersmeet, MI did 350 miles

Sled heads, just got back last week from our first early season trip that we try and do every year.. I know this report comes as a current meltdown seems to be happening, but either way thought that I should post due to the lack of posts.. We rode half-day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and we put out about 350 miles..

We traveled up to the UP to Watersmeet on December 8 and stayed through the weekend. Watersmeet had about 6 inches of snow on the ground enough to get to the forest roads and head north. The further north you rode, the more snow that piled up. We got into about 10 to 12 inches of snow by Mass City. We rode Sidnaw, Kenton and the Sturgeon River Gourge in the national forest down to Lower Lake dam had plenty of snow on the forest roads.

We accessed very little trail, rode mostly forest roads but it was a perfect week we only saw maybe 10 sleds in the UP. Cold temperatures definitely set up nice for the trails that we did cross we did not run into too much water at all matter fact we didn't run in any water.

What gets me is nobody was reporting up to the week that we went, but we knew from contacts in the local area that we had enough snow to ride out of Watersmeet and head north and we know from 15 years plus riding in the UP that the further north we would travel the more snow you run into from the lake effect belts.

Either way we had a blast unfortunately it seems like the warm temperatures are hosing what was a great start. The locals said this is the third time this year they've had measurable snow and lost it, I sure hope that this year has great positive things coming for the snowmobiling industry to support everyone up north. I will post some pics of our ride last week. Peace...

It's nice to see some snowmobiles on the white stuff. Its much too brown in my area as of now. I haven't even taken the covers off of my sleds or anything yet, haven't had the need.

That trip sounds like a nice start to the season. Too bad that it might have to be it for a while, with the unseasonably warm weather that has been hitting the area.

Ya TommyBoy68 you are right in that it has to be all but about toasted after the rain they got early in the week... I think we hit the right week to get up north before this meltdown. I figured the next best thing is to post pics of the ride to everyone who cannot be on the trail might as well get a view of that White Gold..
