New site.....lack of use. What happened?? Hellooooo, anybody here??

Geez this used to be the first sled site I'd hit every day after work. There were always at least a couple new threads on a daily basis. Daily chat among members, guys jabbin' at one anopther and just jokin it up...What the heck happened?? Is there new ownership, management, moderators etc...?? I used to love this site.....now.....I don't know

Anyone else?...................it sure seems lonely here

I guess folks are going to the sites geared toward the brand of sleds they own. I gotta admit, I've been on DooTalk more than ever. This used to be the first site I visited, but not so much anymore....Sorry ST, I'll be lurking

Yeah, now I'm all better...thanks! I thought I was on my own here. Any word from Al and Dawn? They always spiced the site up a bit.

I think the big change to the site has alot to do with it,. Trail reports are not as good as last year.Oh well, good while it lasted.

Part of the problem is the lack of snow.. Also for whatever reason, even before the new site launched a lot of reporters seem to have fallen off the planet, hopefully once mother nature starts cooperating things will pick up & some of the awol reporters will be back..

The only other major change to the structure of the forum is that on the old site the trail reports appeared on the site itself as well as the forum, and now they are only on the site & not in the forum.. I personally feel this may be part of the lack of participation on the forums & brought this to the attention of management.. From what I am told bringing the reports back into the forum should not be a big problem & I encourage you to chime in on this issue & we can go from there.. As far as other changes go Snowtracks has not changed ownership, but for those who do not know, Gary Von Bergen the founder & creator of S T passed away last winter during the peak of the season, The site is still owned by surviving members of the family who have always been very active in the business & this site since it's inception..

Another change that just came up is that Bob will no longer monitoring the boards, citing heath reasons he submitted his resignation yesterday. Bob was an integral part of the forum & he will be missed, we wish him nothing but the best. As of today I will be performing both moderating & admin duties here on snowtracks. Altho I do have not been a user of this site & forum which puts me at a disadvantage when people bring up things or compare issues to the old site, I have extensive experience designing, moderating & administering websites and forums both with Outdoor Network the owners of this site and various other sites & forums over the last 15 years. I will do my best to assist anyone with any issues you may encounter as well as listen to suggestions, comments & critique. This website & forum is yours, every member both old and new, each & every one of you have the power & tools to make this site what you want it to be and I will be here to assist you in any way I can.

One of the things I have brought to the attention of management is to link both the site & the forum up to our Snowtracks facebook page, As a marketing strategist I feel the social network platform is the way of the future, especially fb and by linking up with our page we would generate quite a bit more traffic, interest & participation as users on both platforms would be able to comment, share & participate from either venue. I would love to get some input on this possible upgrade from you guys on this good or bad.. You can find our page at https://www.facebook.com/SnowTrackx

If you have any questions, comments or problems you can click the contact us buttons located on the top & bottom of each page or contact me direct. I look forward to working with everyone in making this site the #1 snowmobiling resource on the web.

    Sincerely,

    Rich,
Welcome to Snowtracks. I've been a reporter for the Mercer WI area for several years and I would hate to see this site go by the wayside.
    But it has issues........
Why can't I see the dates and times of replies on the threads?

    Kat,

I was wondering the same thing myself, It should be as simple as changing a setting, I will look into this now & if for some reason I cannot find what I'm looking for I will have the developer correct it.. Thanks for bringing it to my attention & hang in there we will get these little bugs worked out & make this site better than ever. What are your thoughts about the reports only being on the front end & not here in the forum and do you think it has anything to do with the lack of participation? Any other feedback or questions are welcome..

    Thanks,
    Rich

    Kat,
Just to follow up with you on the date/time issue, I looked things over & submitted a support ticket to our developer who can address this issue from his end. Thanks Again, Rich
