    A weekend ride

A friend and I, and two of his brothers-in-law are pondering a trip from Spring Green, WI to Merrill, WI. Has anyone been on a trip like this? He has relatives in Merrill and a couple of the wives would meet us there with a couple of trailers to get us back home. Anyone up to it with us??? Any suggestions for stops or trails to take?? We would leave on a Friday afternoon, stay somewhere Friday night, ride Saturday and Saturday night for a while and spend the night Saturday night somewhere and get to Merrill on Sunday sometime. Hopefully!!! Then it's about a 3 hour drive back to Spring Green. Is it do-able?? What do ya think??

Sounds like one heck of a trek.
I'll suggest you stop in at Trails End Bar & Grill. Good food. That'll be in Northern Adams Co.
Their Chili is good. Trails are interesting. Fuel up east of there at Pritzl's. Again, good sandwiches. (Well worth the stop for a sandwich)
If you come up through Portage Co., Club Forest has good food, but pricy. Gas staions abound east of there. The trail system heading North is fun to ride.
Mosinee, Wi., has fuel stops. Tough to get to, though.
Wood Co. should be good riding.

The Super 8, just south of Adams, is a fine place for a nights rest. Not too far from from a bar for libations. The trail can take you through town. Kwik Trip is easily accessable.

The rest I'll leave up to the others.

The trails in Marathon county are closed so Im not sure how you would get to Merrill. I guess you could try to cut over clark county and then into taylor

We've been pondering a trip from Brodhead to Babcock. were hoping new years wknd. We would most likely be using the same trail as you. corridor #23 North. I'll bring #21 up to Reedsburg then jumping onto #23 all the way to Babcock. that would take you through Clark instead of Maraton County. If Marathon opens #21 works to. From Brodhead to Babcock your looking ten hours.

All ideas sound good so far. It's really gonna take a good statewide snowfall I guess to make this work. I was assuming the trails were all open on that route. Isn't there snow yet, or is there ather problems??I think we're looking at the first of Feb or so. Maybe one night stop over would be enough???
