    Trail report

thought i would put in a report down my way. chicagoland area.
groomers have not left the barn yet..... or is there any in the barn.
the grass is still a bit green. many spots do show some browness to it.
few limbs still laying on trail. much snow should cover them.
with the warm weather the rocks are starting to show some sinking into the mud.
thats good, wont need as much snow to cover them.
all signs still on the post....guess nobody out riding to steal them.
trail pass purchase is WAY down..........wait Il. dont have one.
D.N.R. says shouldn't be long and trails will be legal to ride.
guess thats bout it from down here.
    Happy Sledding.......................................... ...

    LOL!

Cut-and-paste trail report for the Minneapolis area too. Sad. Area lakes aren't even frozen over completely, and it like 50 degrees here today.

Saw a report from Alaska this AM on TV, they had 15 feet of snow in the town they were showing. Roofs collapsing, people digging tunnels to get to thier homes. The snow was pretty, for what it's worth.

    I miss my snowmobiles!

And in Wausau.. the sun is brightly shinning - make sure you use tinted goggles... temps are 47 - not much need for heavy clothing, t-shirts should work just fine and snow patches in the woods - so dont need your high top boots

8"-12" of fresh snow is forecast for the Mercer, Wi area by Friday, Jan. 13th, 2012. Trail conditions have held up surprisingly well the past few days with the warm temps. Our guests have been reporting enjoyable riding.

They are calling for 7"-10" here in S.E. Wi. and 6"-9" for Chicago.. It's a start! but I wont be able to enjoy it right away as I'll be at the Chicago Musky Show all weekend!
