We just returned from our 6 day trip in the Eagle River area. Our first day out was last Saturday and traffic was very heavy. Since we drove up in the morning by afternoon the sun and warm temps had pretty much done in most area trails. On Sunday morning we had some luck early on but warm temps and traffic were hard on the trails yet again.

Long story short we were able to squeeze in 500 miles over the 5 days of riding but it was not easy to do. Any corridor trails at this point are unrideable. It is not a case of hit or miss bare spots, it is now hit or miss snow spots. Yes, you can find some rideable snow but the problem is getting there and back. Does not much matter if you find 12 miles of fair trail after you have ridden 40 there and back on dirt and solid frozen patches.

If that was not enough to convince you to save your sled here is some more. The forecast for this weekend is very cold temps. What is left of anything on the trails will be frozen solid and off trail riding will not be any good either (even if you know where to find it).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news if your plans were to head out to the only area in WI with snow on the ground but wait it out and hope for some new snowfall.
