    Eagle river conditions 2/23/12

It is no secret that this years season is a tough one. Tuesdays snow of about 2-1/2 inches was the minimum to get me out. If it had not been for a snowmobile tours job yesterday (Wednesday) I would have stayed in. Folks from St. Louis made these reservations at the begining of the year and I played the forecast up to the last day. If not for that snow I would have canceled. Surprislingly enough the ride went well and we had "white" trail for about 98% of the trip to the U.P. No grooming but it was not needed as we rode through three club trails. Trail 6 had some traffic on it but not much. The 13 trail had only to riders moving ahead of me all day long. It was not that bad! Sunny today as another storm moves south and misses us. If you are looking for a last of the season ride watch the weather. Sunday night and Monday have a great promise of HEAVY SNOW... could be at least a foot.

Here are some pics from yesterdays ride.
