Twin Cities to Berlund, MI --- The Quickest way to get there

Greetings, We've got a little adventure to the U.P. planned. We've been there before and have always taken I-35 up to duluth then over of Hwy2?. Just wondering if anyone knows of a better way? Also, we're looking at staying at the Timbers Resort, looks pretty sweet. Any comments on the place? Thanks

I've run a few different ways out there. Hwy 8 to 63N to 2. Or Hwy 70 to 63. They shave a few miles off but they are not any faster. 35N to Duluth, and then 2E I have found to be the fastest. Have a good trip.

just curious... only because I know theres soooo much riding already in your back yard if you live in MN. why drive to the UP? why the extra drive instead of riding in MN?
