clutching and jetting for mountain riding

We are heading out to West Yellowstone next month and I just bought a 2001 600 xcsp.I was hoping some one from out there would let me know what they set their machine to.I know the specs but I also know that guys that ride have a better idea for best performance.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks

your best bet is to call a dealer near where you are going to be riding and ask them. If you ask pple arround here they just go out of a book and its a guess.

I called out to Polaris West in West Yellowstone and talked to a mechanic.He was very helpfull.Got the info I needed.

good to know. we should almost put up a page of jetting and clutching. if you go out west or you live out that way. we should have the pple that know their sled ran great they should post what elivation and temp they ran at along with make and cc of sled and track along with the clutching set up.

there are so many combinations that you could have is would be a huge waste of time to post all that info. call your local dealer and find out what they are recommending and when you get there have them put it on for you. most of them will do that. for a small fee.

is there a way to say like for every 4k feet you drop one jet size. I finaly got my clutching right but i was off by one jet size last year. us flat landers cant call a local dealer they dont know. they guees as well as we do.
