Hi all, just looking for some input on a good track for an '02 MXZ 500 sport. I live in So. WI so I don't get many miles a year. Any good pointers and ideas on how much cash I'll have to fork over??

i know exactly what you mean by where you live, as i too lived close by there. On the sled, if it is liquid cooled, the most you might be able to go is 1.25 i put one on my sled 01 mxz500fan and i had enough room, i spent about 330 for it hopefully this anwsers your ?
I would run a 1" with 96 stud down the center . Or if you want to spend money on a track that is a great all around go with 1.25 rip saw comes with like over 200 studs molded in the lugs . No need to stud then . Just my 2 cents .
My buddy put the 1.25" ripsaw with no studs on his 500 and he loves it. The ripsaw is supposed to be one of the better all around 1.25" track available. You should have plenty of clearance for it. My friend got his from tracksusa.com. I believe his was around $500 but I cant remember. I also dealt with them for my track and they were good. I believe they will match prices and they bought my old track off me.
Have fun!
I wouldn't throw on anything more than a 1" lug on a 500...
Guys, this was a pretty old post by me, so here's an update. I did get a new camoplast 1" hacksaw track for $290.00 installed at the dealer down the road. The parts guy had the insight to order a bunch of 'em last spring, got a heck of a deal, so he passed the savings along. I love the track. No studs for me thanks.![]()
