A friend of mine recently picked up a 2000 Formula Deluxe. It has obviously been rolled and most of the repairs have been made. There are about three small cracks in the hood (about an inch long). They are on the back side of the hood (i.e. if you sit on the sled you will see the cracks right below the handlebars).
Is there a way to repair these? My buddy works with metal and his idea was to drill a hole on each side of the crack and put a plate behind the crack and rivet it in. I wanted to check and see if someone has a better idea before he punches six holes in his hood ( that just doesn't seem like the best idea to me!). We are most concerned with structural integrity. The cracks are small and will hardly be noticed. (Unless of course we put a rivet on each side of one ) My main concern is that they will extend with the opening and closing of the hood.
All input is welcome. Thanks
