Hello, I am new to this forum I am looking to get my daughter into snowmobiling. My husband and I had her take the snowmobile safety class and she passed. She is 14 years old and really wants to ride. We are looking at trying to find her a used sled around a 440.. Ski-doo or arcticat.

We don't want to travel outside of Michigan to get one. and we need cheap but runs good. LOL Not to much to ask for huh.

If anyone knows of such a sled please let me know. It is so hard to watch her face drop when we leave her at grandmas and we go rideing because we can't take her on ours.

So please help if you can

Check out the classifieds here on the site. They change daily! Also, post an ad of your own in the "wanted" forum. This site is visited by many folks. You might be surprised at what ya find. Don't rule out the Polaris line. They put out a very reliable 500 (488) fan cooled motor on a lot of sleds. The Indy series comes to mind because I have 2 of my own that my son and my wife have both learned on. Give it a whirl and good luck

You could go to the snow mobile auction in michigan - go to attached web site. I have not been there myself but i have some friends that have. Based on what they said I guarentee you willl come home w/ a sled. Plus you would be able to take your daughter with you to help decide on which one to bid one. I would imagine you could pick something really good for under a grand. I believe the website will give you the listings & price of previous auctions so you will have a good ideal for what 440's ,etc are going for.

The cheaper the better but also the newer the better. I would find something with some travel in the rearend deptarment. And Plastic skis, atleast. Don't want to get her sick of riding beacuse of a sore back and arms. mxz 500's l/c or fan have been going pretty cheap around here, in Michigan. let us know if your still looking.
