There are times in ones life where moments happen to put your life...

There are times in ones life where moments happen to put your life back into a clearer perspective. Mine happened last saturday with the passing of my hero. My dad was the one who got me into snowmobiling. Back in the day, it was a hand me down polaris colt 250 that seemed to test ones mental ability and patience while trying to start it in cold weather.

I look back through the years and at all of the sacrifices that dad made to share those special moments among the famliy. From short rides on the rivers, family outings around the Land O' Lakes, Conover Star Lake Loop, 4 day backpack rides, and just messing around on the lake while ice fishing. He gave all of his time to my brothers and I to make sure that we had a blast.

I remember the last night that dad and I talked snowmobiling. We were on the way out to eat with Mom, my brother and sister-in-law, and he was really excited to be going on a week long adventure into the Upper Penninsula of Michigan with a bunch of friends. Little did he know that in less than 48 hours later, our hearts would be broken.

If there is one thing that dad has taught me, it's to cherish the friendships that you make and treat everybody with respect. Dad, you will be missed terribly, and I"m sure that from time to time, I'll shead an icy tear, while riding down those trails that were rode togther in the past, sharing great times.

Thank you for everything that you've done for us...

Well Snowtrackers, the time is definately upon us. The forums are in full swing,...

Well Snowtrackers, the time is definately upon us. The forums are in full swing, and the snow is finally blanketing most of our riding areas. Some of you lucky few have been out and about, and have managed to find some premo powder from what I hear. Waist deep snow in mid Dec is not a bad thing for a tread-head.

From the looks of it, I'll be making my first ride this weekend. As usual, there's always something to finish up on the sleds. It shouldn't take too long to install the goodies prior to a Southern Wisconsin Strike. I'm looking forward to it quite a bit as I'll be riding with friends once again, as well as some new territory. I've driven through the Grant County area quite a bit on the way out to Iowa, and I've always dreamed about how fun it would be to climb and ride back down the backside of those bluffs. This weekend it'll happen :D.

It'll be a nice time among friends, as well as give me some thoughts on where we should possibly hit for this year's ST WEST invasion. To be honest, I'm still leaning twards Togwotee, due to it's somewhat central location and services. Anyways, ideas are flyin' round.

To all of you getting out on the trails again this weekend, be safe, and keep your arses off of the ice. With this heavy snow, it'll be insulated and will need a bit more time to set up.

Well Snowtrackers, it certainly has been a while since the white gold has been blanketing the land. However, it won't be long until mother nature turns a cold shoulder to the sun and begins to show just how much love she's got for us tread-heads. Things are definately in motion. Colder temps, a flake or two here and there, and a brand spankin' new Snowtracks forum for all of you to get your snowmobiling fix.

It's been a while, but it's finally here. I know that to a lot of you it's old hat and may be worn out, but it's your site to police and maintain a composed, mature attitude. Of course you can be funny, but be funny in a respectfull manner to everyone.

Anyways, back to buisness. There isn't much new in the Howler hangar for this year when it comes to iron, but there will be some upgrades to the old XC. Nothing subtle, just a high flow airbox kit, flow-rite intakes, and a R.A.D. nose cone cooler to let the old 8-hundo snap a bit more, lol. It should be a good season this year, and I look forward to more laughs, stories, and times with you all. Till next time...
