Trail Report For: Minocqua
Reported By: Tom Bird – The Cross Country Cruisers
Date of Report: 01/28/2015
Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: 12+
Area Report: Cross Country Cruisers trails vary from fair to very good. We did receive some new snow that helped, but we sure could use some more. The spur trail from Lake Minocqua to the 47 trail is in fair condition, the 47 trail is in good condition with a few thin spots just east of Woodruff road. The 70 trail is in fair condition, the Bearskin is in good condition with a few thin spots close to town. Trail 11 towards Sayner is in good to very good condition with a few icy spots. All the Cruiser trails north of HWY 70 are in good to very good condition with a few thin spot and some icy corners. We need some more snow to get the trails back into excellent condition so THINK SNOW!!
Please use caution on Vandercook Rd. There are log trucks hauling daily and will be for some time. There has been a 35mph speed limit posted, so slow down, and stay to the right. Consider using trail 6 & 3 as an alternate.
If you are trying to get the last few miles out of your carbides and you have a new pair laying on the shelf, know would be the time to put them on!!
Ride right, ride smart and be safe out there, have a great weekend!!

The Magic of Winter – Sled the Vast, White Northland
Thanks to the hard work of our many snowmobile clubs and volunteers, an extensive network of professionally groomed trails – more than 1600 miles – are maintained. A magnificent natural environment with 1300 glacial lakes and 233,000 acres of public forest lands provide a perfect setting for snowmobilers in the Minocqua – Arbor Vitae – Woodruff Area. Take off in any direction to sled on the spacious and well marked routes throughout the forests. The locale features a number of trail side pit stops – step inside, enjoy the atmosphere, but please be responsible. Don’t drink and drive !
