"WDNR fatality report."

even though we're 11 below last year and 13 below 04-05, 25 is still to many.

They already have it on the news that the death toll is down this year and they mention the 55mph speed limit at night. In my opinion the real factor this year was the lack of snow and everyody riding less miles. I personally don't think the 55mph speed limit had anything to do with the death toll at all.
Less miles traveled = less chance of accidents regardless of rules and regulations.

Totally agree, we couldn't even ride until after 12/31 in Eagle River due to the snow conditions. Worst year on record in my book up North. Accross the southern part of the state though the trails were open more than any other time since the 80s. Glad the year ended on a safe note for most people. Already looking forward to riding next year..always hard to fog and store the sled.

   Dave,
It's been along time since we've been able to ride as much as we did this year down here. I know it didn't help the northern business but it sure felt good in my back pocket.

I hope you guys have just as much snow if not more next year. Nice to see all the hard work by the clubs in the Southern Part of the state paying off...I always sorta frown when I see the signs out there all year and then it never snows and the trails might open for a day or two ya know (I'm usually working that day). I think man these guys really put in the effort, raise the capital and then it never snows. This year was like, there's a sled, another...that guy is flying, I just wanted to go get the trailer park right there and ride!! I truely hope that this past winter really got some people back in the sport that thought snow by me - doesn't happen anymore -used to snow all the time but now nope. The clubs should have a great arguement to make the trail system stronger down there. I would hate the DNR to scare people away with gustopo tactics, like I've heard of them doing.
