Trail Conditions:	Excellent
Snow Cover:	18-20 + inches
Area Report:	0600, temp is 20 degrees, and should warm up to about 27 by mid day. Skies are overcast, with a light snowfall, about an inch overnight. There is snow forecast daily through the week end, but no major accumulation, with milder temps in the high twenties and night time lows in the high teens. PERFECT RIDING WEATHER! Trails have been excellent all week, but with the milder day time temps and heavy week end traffic, expect some deterioration by mid afternoon, although the ice base helps to hold them flat longer. TRAILS ARE FLAT, WITH AN ICE BASE COVERED WITH SNOW. THEY ARE HARD, FLAT & FAST! The groomer guys work their magic every night and every morning riding is GREAT. Expect the trails to get beat up some by late afternoon. but they have been holding up remarkably well with the good ice base. MOST WET AREAS & LAKES ARE NOW SAFELY FROZEN, BUT NOT ALL, AND MANY LAKES HAVE LOTS OF SLUSH, SO BEWARE AND CHECK LOCAL CONDITIONS! OUR SNOWMOBILE SAFETY CLASS, DEC. 29 & 30/09, 9 A.M. TO 4 P.M. is now history and 38 of 40 students passed with flying colors. Winter snowmobiling excitement runs rampant throughout northern Wisconsin’s Vilas County. Hundreds of lakes and acres of state and national forest lands provide a winter wonderland for enthusiastic riders.

Land O’ Lakes, located on the border of Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula provides an excellent home base for your winter excursions. Trails to the north connect with the serene trail network of the Upper Peninsula. Corridor 6 guides riders across the northern section of Vilas County from Phelps at the eastern border, through Land O’Lakes as it continues on to Presque Isle.
