Happy Fall everybody, No snow yet but they say there's a chance of an inch of accumulation early next week. Our club has been busy lately getting equipment cleaned up and ready for the up coming season. Now it's time for trail bushing and new signs The Polar Riders will have a crew of about 15 people taking vacation time from their jobs in southern Illinois to come up on the 15th of this month to get started on the fall work. The Polar Riders come up every year at this time and put in a ton of hours helping out our trails. If any of you are in the area and would like to donate your time feel free to contact Bill Beyer at 715-476-9124. He'll be happy to find you a project. Or, if you meet anybody from the Polar Riders this winter please buy them a drink and say Thank you. You can't believe how much their help is needed and appreciated.
There's been some interesting changes in the neighborhood over the summer- Joyce Bednar from Chuck's Bar is finally get her chance to retire, Jeff and Robyn take over on the 13Th of this month. Kyle Dibelius, we all know from Around the Corner Pub and Gateway Lodge bought(married)Johnny's Bar right in town. Make sure you stop by and say hi to these new owners. Ski-Doo riders, Manitowish Sports has closed, which is why you aren't seeing the web cam in town. I've added a web cam here at Dear Lodge but it's off line right now, I broke it. That certainly didn't take long.I should have it back up after the weekend, you can find it through my cabin rental web site WWW.FLAMBEAULODGING.COM
The club is in the process of building a web site at WWW.MERCERSNOGOERS.COM Hopefully we'll be able to keep you updated on club happenings thru the new site It's supposed to be self editing, but I don't know how yet, and I'll probably break it.
We are having a 50/50 Raffle with some cabin stays including meals and also a Kayak. Nice prizes Please try to buy all the tickets you can as we have had everything donated including the cost of the ticket printing. It should be a great fundraiser.
That's all I can think of for now And no, I'm not ready for snow yet. The two leaf inches has to turn into four and then get cleaned up before we get snow!
