Area Report:

Hello again sledderz!! Well, last weekend was rough in the St. Germain and surrounding areas. A combination of warmer than average temps and very heavy traffic made for some severe bumpy riding pretty much everywhere. The groomers can only do so much with these conditions, but they were out doing what they could. Road trails, road crossings and gas station lots were down to the pavement in most areas. Fast forward to today and this weekend, a couple of cold nights and temps below the 30’s during the day have helped firm up trails. Having said that, once what was slush is now ice. Sections of trails, such as corners and lakes can be treacherous and dangerous. Forecast for this weekend is for cooler temps, mainly in the 20’s for highs and light snow chances. On a side note- we lost another sledder in Vilas county this week. Please ride safe, be aware of the always changing conditions up here and always watch out for your fellow sledders!!
