Area Report:

Happy New Year sledders!! I apologize for not submitting an updated report sooner, but a hand injury has sidelined me for a few days. Having stated that, I have not been riding for about 5 days. I can tell you that warmer than average temps and heavy traffic have not been to kind to the trails. Worn spots and open water have hampered trail riding in some areas. Street trails are down to pavement on sections throughout the area. Most lakes are still not marked yet, and probably won’t be for another couple of weeks. Although, Big St. Germain Lake is marked, but strongly recommended you stay close to the barrels!! Some light snow accumulation and cooler temps are expected in the coming days. Overall, the trails don’t appear in that bad of shape. Definitely good riding to be had with better conditions on the way!! As always, stay off unmarked lakes and ride safe!!! I’ll be back on the trails soon with a more detailed report next week!!
