Very Good to Excellent
Ice Base – Loose SNOW
As you ride should you come across any issues pleased call Dan at 262.951.6519.
Weather pattern did a total change. For the next week highs in the 20’s with some teens during the day. Night time single digits & some below zero.
6 miles east of Eagle River Lake Effect pretty much every night. Schiff to not measurable. Supposed to be some SNOW, haven’t yet. After that next SNOW is Thursday. No totals
Been riding. Surprised at the conditions. Plenty of loose SNOW on top of the icy base. Lots of corners icy. Rode north & west/southwest yesterday. Eagle River, Conover, Land o’ Lakes & Phelps ton of traffic. Large groups. Met 60 sleds in a 20 mile section.
Mix of riders from running too fast with the high traffic to brand new to the sport riders. Both brought riders on the wrong side in the corners. Corners everywhere icy with loose SNOW on top. Please RIDE RIGHT!!!
Here’s what trails were like yesterday with the huge amount of sleds:
10E one way heading to town from my house was in Very Good shape all the way in.
Grade 10/13 was also Very Good. Through town some chop but not bad.
10/13 heading north out of town a lot of chop in Eagle River & Conover. Improved a little where 10/13 connects to Trail 3 to Trail 12 & back to 8 & then to 45. Large groups & tons of riders. Best heading north was Trail 6 from where Conover & Land o’ Lakes meet heading north into Land o’ Lakes Trails.
In Phelps trails, even with the Radar Run weren’t bad. Rode 12, 12A & a short section of 17. North Twin was terrific.
Later rode west out of Eagle River Trail 70/13/7. Section from Sunstein Rd was the best I have seen. Section after crossing Oak Ln was rough & washboardy all the way to where you come out by Kerber Rose Accounting. From there mostly ok. Crossing Hwy 70 by Eagle River Inn took awhile with a ton of vehicle traffic. From there to turn on to Trail 17/7 Good. Some blow out corners. Trail 7 aka Paint Ball Field was GOOD halfway then washboardy.
The Sugar Camp trails were fantastic everywhere. Less traffic. Few icy corners. Plenty of grooming!!
Back on 7 to 17/7 to 70 & into town. Grade heading south was rough. Trail 10 east was way rough & choppy. Especially from the Hockey Arena (the Dome) all the way home. The trail to Pond Hockey was heavily used.
GTS – Groomer Tracking System shows almost all Eagle River trails groomed last. Club Trail off of 10W that comes out on Hwy G & the Trigs Trail that take you gas where NOT GROOMED. Glad all groomed as they all were rough.
See ya on the trails!
