Area Report:

Well it’s that time of the year. Waiting to get some snow. The lady upstairs is just not going to help us with snow for next couple of weeks. Looks to be a brown Christmas. Hope to keep some cold nights so the swamps freeze and they can make ice at the derby track in Eagle River WI. So for now keep garage riding and getting those sleds ready to go. Hope January turns arounds and we can put some miles on.

See you all on the trails, when snow hits.

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Good with Fair this morning

The warm up continues. Another high 30’s day with 20’s low today.  Warm up will continue until Tuesday.  No SNOW in the forecast. Trails are still GOOD but expect a change as the weekend continues.

                       Trail 10E afternoon 2-20-20   Trail 70W afternoon 2-20-2020 near   Trail alt13 aka 3 heading south 2-20-2020 afternoon

                      2-21-2020 northside trail 10E   2-21-2020 trl 70W  2-21-2020 trl Alt13 aka 3S

The top row of photos were taken Thursday afternoon. Beneath are photos of the same section Friday afternoon. Left photo is Trail 10E northside.  Middle photos is Trail 70W section behind the Super 8.  Right photo is Trail Alt13 aka 3 heading south out of Eagle River.  There has been some change.  Will be riding these section today.  Report tomorrow.

Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS Trails) reports in the last 24 hours most of the Eagle River trails were groomed.  So here are the trails not groomed

  • Trail 10W/13N the section from where the trail comes out on Adams Rd & heads north connecting to Conover trails
  • 3N aka Manske Swamp
  • Wisconsin River Bridge crossing on map it is 10W/13N
  • Trig’s Shell section of the City trail to Bloom Rd
  • Trail 1 aka GrampGrahm that turns off 10E at W. Carpenter Lk Rd near Catch 22 & goes to Eagle Water Resort

ALL OTHER TRAILS ARE GROOMED

Trail sections will change as the day goes on.  Would expect the Wisconsin River bridge section of 10W/13N & 3N aka Manske Swamp may develop slush.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked.  Conditions on both lakes may produce surface slush with temps up & sun out.  Remember not all lakes are safe.  Look for markers and/or signing.  If you don’t see any the lake is not safe. P.S. There is a 55mph nighttime speed limit.

THINK COLD!  KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!!

See ya on the trails today!

Eagle River has long held the distinction of SNOWMOBILE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, and it’s a matter of pride that causes local clubs and businesses to work so diligently to maintain that title. Snowmobile fever becomes a way of life in our Eagle River winters, and the talk often turns to “picks”, “carbides” and performance. In fact, these snow machines seem to outnumber cars during the winter months.

Over 500 MILES OF GROOMED TRAILS connect the communities of the area, including access to major county and state routes. Trails wind throughout the area’s scenic forests, but frequently pass close to service businesses which can provide you with fuel and sustenance, shelter and refreshment. If you don’t have your own snowmobile, several dealerships will be happy to provide you with equipment during your visit.
