Area Report:
We received 5″ of snow Thursday night it should help the trail system significantly. The groomers are out doing double runs to hit all of our 150 miles of trails. It takes time to hit all of them. Once they are all groomed, they should be good.
The lakes are all marked and not showing any signs of slush. There are multiple roads across Boom Lake so use extreme caution when traveling on that route. The big ice fishing jamboree on Boom Lake is this weekend, so there will be lots of activity on the lake. The snow cover on the lake is low, so the ice fisherman can travel about anywhere so there can be truck tracks and / or plowed roads in multiple locations.
There is one trail closure on the Hodag Sno-Trails system: Trail H4 from Boom Lake to the intersection just north of River Rd. This is basically the “land” route to not running Boom Lake. The trail is closed at this point. We have been just notified that this is a permanent closure. Running the lake is the reroute.

Douglas County received approximately 2-5 inches of snow across the county last night. Some trails have been groomed. Clubs are out working to get the trails groomed so please watch out for our volunteer groomer operators. As Grooming reports come in the Trail Conditions will be updated. Some of the grooming reports are from earlier in the week before the snow last night.
Douglas County Forestry does not maintain any trails across lakes. If you would like information of specific trails please contact the Snowmobile club in that area.
It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to utilize their property. Please Stay On The Trails.
Please share this info with anyone that you believe would be interested…our goal is to inform as many trail riders as possible.
Please check with neighboring counties to ensure the trails are open before you ride!

Area Report:
With the three inches of wet snow received overnight, the ten Langlade County Snowmobile Clubs will be out grooming later today and overnight. The snowmobile trails in Zone A and B are expected to be in good to excellent conditions after grooming. Still expect thin patches scattered throughout the trail system and some icy corners present as well. Please use caution on corners. Use extreme caution on Pickerel Lake and Rollingstone Lake as someone is plowing the area lakes causing large drifts and piles of snow.
The trail segment from intersection 93 south to Northwoods Inn is closed indefinitely.

Boulder Junction Snowmobile Club Trail Report – Friday, 2/11/22:
It’s 26 degrees out this morning with about 2” of new snow overnight. Weather forecast calls for scattered lake effect snow today with colder temps for the weekend.
Last night, we groomed 2W, 51, 8W, 15N, and 6E. Early this morning after the snow, we groomed 8E, 15S, and 11.
With the additional snow and a full schedule of grooming, our trails will be in very good shape for the start of the weekend. Also, the new snow will improve the road trails going towards Land O’ Lakes and the road trails in Iron County near Winchester.
Enjoy our trails, be safe, think snow! Check for an updated report on Monday, 2/14/22.

February 11, 2022 – 6:50am 29 – High of 31 today – 8 below tonight
Looks to be 3 inches of wet Snow overnight. Snow has moved out. Lake Effect Snow off of Lake Superior on the way. Moving in around noon. Forecast for couple more inches. Then tonight into the freezer with 8 below. Groomers went out last night to get a step on the SNOW so trails were groomed ahead of the SNOW. Grooming again tonight & trails should be in good shape.
The Groomer Tracking System AP (GTS) shows groomers left the Groomer Barn along Hwy 45N near the Snowmobile Derby Track last night for nearly a full grooming season. Sections NOT groomed are Trail 17S from Trail 7 to Sugar Camp connect, Trail 3 aka Manske Swamp that runs between 10/13 & 17N PLUS Club Trail Uncle Kent that start off Hwy G & connects to Trail 10W north of town. It takes long nights to accomplish this. Give them a thumbs up & remember to pull over to let them by.
Catfish & Eagle lake trails marked & OPEN. No reports of surface slush. Stay by the orange reflective barrels. DO NOT think the entire lake is safe. Several sleds have gone in the water this season far from the barrels.
