Trails are really starting to break up now… lots of sun and some rain have pretty much done them in for the season.
Was a very short season this year for snowmobiling.. now it’s time to move ahead to the next season. Time to start thinking about your fishing gear.. campers.. bikes and atv’s. This is the best thing about the U.P. no matter what time of year it is.. there is ALWAYS something to do. 🙂
Hope to see yawl next winter on the trails…. until then have a “Safe & Wonderful” year. 😉

Effective Midnight on Friday, March 5, 2021, the majority of the Trails under the management of Douglas County Forestry will be closing for the winter season. Operating on closed trails is both illegal and may jeopardize our ability to use those lands for future seasons. Due to the recent warm temperatures, the trail base has eroded and the thawing snowpack has resulted in reduced quality of trails. Ride at your own risk.
The following Douglas County managed trails will remain open after March 5:
Wild Rivers Trail (There is a temporary closure between Harroun Road and County Road A due to flooding).
Gandy Dancer State Trail
Saunders State Trail
When leaving Douglas County or operating on trails managed by others within Douglas County, please contact the neighboring county, state, or trail operator to its regulations or status for ATV operation before entering the property.
Thank you to all of the members of the Northwest Trails Association for the tremendous amount of work it takes to open and maintain the trail network.
Douglas County Cross Country Ski Trails
Douglas County CC Ski Trails – The ski trails were packed on 2/25/21. With the warmer weather, no more grooming will take place on the trails this season. Fair conditions.
Superior Municipal Forest (Superior) – Groomed, but there are bare spots. Fair to good conditions.
After Hours Ski Trail (Brule) – Groomed and tracked. The trails are in fair to good condition, watch for bare spots.
Pattison State Park (Pass Required) – Trails are in fair to good condition.
Enjoy your ride and please ride safe!

Price County snowmobile trails are now closed for the season. Thank you to all the groomers and club members for all that you do to provide us the great trail system. A big thank you to the land owners that allow the trails to cross their properties. It was a short season but again it was a great time fro all that got to ride Price County trails.
The Price County Trail system consist of over 500 miles of scenic trails, great places to stop to fill up on fuel, food and beverages. The trails are maintained by 9 clubs and reported by the two Chambers.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you next season
