Hello Riders!
As you know the temps got quite warm this last week and weekend. While there was several areas of snirt there were also some great trails within the protection of the woods and on the lakes despite the warm up. If you ride Sawyer County much you know how a trail condition can change very rapidly from one spot to another. Out in the open and along highways you may see brown, into the forest and on the lakes you have snow again making conditions passable. There was a lot of traffic again this weekend and many were able to map out their routes to find the most optimal riding given the conditions and some snirt was inevitable. And then just like that in a matter of 8 hours the game changed! Much of the county received 5-7″ of fresh beautiful snow in the wee Sunday hours and wow, some of the most beautiful trails conditions we’ve seen all season! Many groomers have gone out to pan and set this snow as much as they can with hopes of hanging on to it as long as possible as our forecasted temps this week will be warm. At this time we cannot say for sure what riding opportunity there will be this weekend as the temps start to creep up. With that said we will continue to monitor the conditions as the week goes and update you to the best of our ability so you can make your weekend decisions.

Reporter:Hodag SnoTrails

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: A little more than expected

Date of Report: March 1, 2021

Area Report:

Groomers went out last night and today to pack down the few inches of snow we received on Sunday.  This will extend the current conditions on the trails for a few days.  They are definitely “good” in the woods and forest roads.  The exposed areas and through town will take a hit with warm, sunny days in the forecast.

There is some slush on the lakes.  Best bet is to stay close to the markers.

Late season riding folks.  You can ride, just temper your expectations.

Boulder Junction Trail Report 3/1/2021

With temps in the low forties over the weekend, our trails were in fair to poor shape especially near town.

Luckily we received 6” of new snow late Sunday morning and the temps dropped to 9 degrees last night. After the snow, our entire trail system was groomed last night and early this morning.

Our trails will be in great shape for anyone riding the next few days. Unfortunately, it will be mostly sunny and in the mid to high 30’s the rest of the week with no snow in sight. This could be it for the year.

Get out and enjoy the trails while you can.

Please be safe out there, ride on the right, respect others, and enjoy the trails and our area businesses.

Think snow!
