Warm waether has replaced the sub-zero from a few weeks ago. Trails have been groomed and are in good condition. Warm tepms this weekend can cause conditions to change quickly. Please use caution when out on the trails. A few inches of snow is expected tommorrow which will help the trails. Early week temperatures are perdicted to be in the upper 20″s to low 30″s. Warmer weather is perdicted for wid to late week. Please look back to this site for updates on trail conditions moving toward next weekend. Please stay on the trails so that we don’t lose them. What you think is public land may be someones private property. Without these people, we would not have the trail system we have.

GTS Trails app shows groomers out in the last 24 hours
While conditions continue to downgrade the groomers were out last night. Nearly full grooming. 10E & it’s spurs were not groomed & the section of 70W from the Honey Bear heading west was not groomed.
Best way to learn the trails is to buy a Sno-Eagles trail map. It also had the entire Vilas county trails on the backside. Plus download the GTS trails app It is available at the App Store.
We have entered the “Adventure Sledding” time of the season. When riding expect all sorts of conditions. Next SNOW is Sunday with an 80% chance. 2-4 inches forecast. If ya THINK COLD maybe it all will stick. START DANCIN‘
Rode again yesterday heading out from my house on 10E near MJ’s Wayside(about 6 miles east). It was GOOD all the way to the connection with the Three Lakes Trails & beyond. A few small burn throughs & some snirt in open areas. This was around noon. Trail 6 has National Forest logging & much of the trail was plowed from before the season started so much of it is very bad. Three Lakes & Phelps are doing the best with a not good situation. In Phelps rode 17S. It had all conditions. VERY GOOD, GOOD, FAIR & a little POOR at road crossings. It runs to Shangri La Road & connects with Eagle River trails. From there road riding with not a lot of cover. Into the woods for short run. POOR in that section. Out on Adams & headed north & west on 17 to Hwy 45N crossing. FAIR & POOR. After the crossing at the 17/3N intersection 17 is in POOR condition all the way to next Hwy 45N crossing. There are areas of waters across the entire trail. After the crossing snow covered & FAIR to the 10/13 connect near Best Western. Except the low spot by Kickback Grill. Water there. Through town very thin & FAIR. Atl13/3S is VERY GOOD. 10E from Loon Lk Rd to Bloom Rd POOR. Little snow on roads to where the trails starts at the Sports Arena. From there home SNOW covered with a few exceptions & FAIR. 79 mile ride.
Please stay on the trails.
Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked with orange reflective barrels. Deep surface slush on both lakes.
Ride it while we got it.

Boulder Junction Trail Report 2/26/2021
With temperatures at 37 degrees at 11:00 a.m., our trails have held up to this point.
We groomed 15S and 8E yesterday morning and 2W, 51, 8W, and 8E early this morning. We will be grooming 15N, 6E, and 15S later today.
Surprisingly, our trails are in fair to good shape. As expected, areas exposed to the direct sun are getting bare and there are some puddles developing with the warm weather.
Hi temp forecasts are for 40 today and 42 tomorrow. Without any significant snow forecast, this may be our last Hoorah! So get out and enjoy the trails while they last.
Please be safe out there, ride on the right, respect others, and enjoy the trails and our area businesses.
Think snow!

I wish I had better news for you all. The warm temps and heavy traffic are deteriorating our trails very quickly. The good news is; there is still some great riding in the woods where it’s more protected from the sun. You’ll just have to ride over exposed dirt and softening conditions to get to the good sections. Get out there now and take advantage of what’s left!!
The Barnstormers will groom our entire system tonight, and then we’ll most likely be done until conditions improve.
The forecast is for 40 degrees today and 43 tomorrow with some sun. There is a chance of 1-3″ of snow on Sunday with a high of 32. Monday’s high is just 17, but starting Tuesday, we’ll be in the upper 30s to low 40s the rest of the week.
Folks, I hate to say it, but this could be the last weekend. We’ll hope that the forecasters are wrong and we get some significant snow soon, but the warmers temps are taking their toll on the trails.
We want to thank all of you for coming up to ride our trails and support our businesses. It truly is appreciated.
Thank you for your patience and support. Ride Right and Stay Safe!
