Trails in Eagle River & All of Vilas County CLOSED
Very cold & clear this morning! 28 for a high today. Cold night time temps are terrific for ice building & keeping the swamps frozen. Now what we need is SNOW!!!! Weather guys reporting the best chance of SNOW next Wednesday. Could see 3 inches. Keep Doin’ the Snow Dance!
Vilas County Forestry, Recreation & Land department has completed 10 of the 11 snowmobile club inspections. Last inspection will be Friday. Once all are done it’s a waiting game ’til the SNOW gets here.
A few updates on the trails:
Trail 13 that heads west of Eagle River has a re route in the section that comes out on Oak Lane by the Pine Gables Restaurant. There is new construction going on so the club has done a temporary move over of the trail. The club is working with the Vilas Forestry, Recreation and Land department to complete the permanent re route which will be in place for the 2021-2022 season. If you are familiar with that trail rather than the 2 corners at the west end by Oak Lane it will go straight ahead. TRAIL WILL BE OPEN.
Also the lake spur off of the Eagle Lake Trail that takes you to Eagle Waters Resort is back open!!! The owner Laura Koranda & adjacent landowners worked hard to have this happen!
Let’s get a loud SNOW DANCE GOING! Want to hear it way up here. Can’t wait to see ya all out on the trails!
THINK COLD!

Hello and Happy Holidays from Lake Gogebic! The Lake Gogebic area received about 4″ of LES yesterday which is a great start to our base. Groomers are in full swing and have been using this down time to ensure that trails are in excellent shape for this years’ snowmobile season. We have several days of snow forecasted before Christmas and will look to groomers for the go-ahead on ridable trails & will let you know. Keep on with the snow dance!!!
Michigan restaurants are only open for take out until December 20th at which point we should receive word on the release of restrictions. We will keep you updated and are all working toward and praying for a great season!!!
Thanks so much to all who make the Lake Gogebic area their favorite snowmobile destination – we appreciate you very much and are looking forward to seeing you soon!
Stay well and stay safe!
This is Mary Beth from AJ’s Walleye Lodge wishing you a happy holiday season!

We have very little snow on the ground and nothing in the forecast. All our trails are marked and have been smoothed up with our new cultimulcher. When we get snow our trails should be great with all the bean fields and the hours in the tractor knocking down the chisel plowed fields with our cultimulcher. When it snows plan to come out and ride our trails
