Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 7-9″ fresh powder

Date of Report: January 26, 2018

Area Report:

The snow is here and the groomers are out every night to keep them in top shape.  The good news is that there is snow to work with.  The challenge is, it will be very warm on Friday and into Saturday.  With the warm weather and heavy weekend traffic, the trails will take a pounding and will not set up hard after nightly grooming.  As a result, I’m putting the trails at “good” overall with some very good areas.

It will be a good weekend to ride, with nice weather to go with it.

Stay safe out there.

Trail Conditions: Good

Date of Report: January 25, 2018

Area Report:

The recent big snowfall we received this week put the trails in very good conditions filling in all rough areas in swamp’s & other areas. Use caution in sharp corners and hills as they are icy so ride at reasonable speed approaching these areas. There has been drifting occurring on lake crossings so maintain reasonable speeds while crossing and stay close to the orange barrels. Remember to give groomers as much room as you can when meeting them to stay clear while they go by. Remember 3 digit brown and white numbers at all intersections are there for your safety in case of emergency to pinpoint emergency personnel of your exact location & obey nighttime speed limits of 55mph. Support local club’s and businesses as you ride the great trails in the northwoods. United we trail divided we fail!

News and Reports:

We do have a couple areas that are going to continue to be of concern. One being Trail 90 at Old Grade and Federal Road due to heavy logging traffic. They are running trucks in and out Old Grade and Federal Rd. Both roads are marked as detour for trail 90, however the townships had to plow so the trucks can meet each other.

Another area of caution is trail 15 North of Club Lake Rd. Water from a spring continues to weep out of the hillside where the trail had to be rebuilt last year causing ice down and across the trail.
