Area Report:

December 27, 2020 – 9:40am 21 degrees – High of 25 Snow Flurries
Trails in Eagle River & All of Vilas County remain CLOSED

Snow Flurries this morning turning to SNOW later.  About an inch.  Wednesday is the best chance of SNOW. 1-3 forecast.  Yep a SNOW DANCE is needed.  It is going to stay cold at night for the next week.  Right now about 4 +- inches of SNOW on the ground.

Trail inspections are all complete.  Many clubs have been out over the last past days panning & packing with groomers.  A few clubs are running sleds in the areas that are still wet to pack with. Now we wait. With not much new to report.  All need more SNOW.

Here in Eagle River Sno-Eagles Trail Boss reported swamps & wet area are freezing up really good. Trail 10 aka Wisconsin Bridge area is still mushy so it may not open when the rest of the trails open.  Panning will start when there is a solid 5 inches+ of SNOW.

Eagle & Catfish lakes are building ice.  Stay off for now until the Sno-Eagles determine both are safe & marked.

Eagle River Volunteer Fire Department regularly checking ice depths & quality on Silver Lake.  If all goes as it is there just might be an ICE CASTLE for 2021!

All in all we NEED MORE SNOW.  So DANCE!!!

THINK SNOW!
