SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Fair to Good – Many icy sections

Temps starting dropping late afternoon yesterday.  Today’s high is 5 with 14 below tonight.  Cold Friday with a high of 12 & low of 5.  There was a little SNOW of the Lake Effect variety yesterday.  About 1/2 inch of the fluffy stuff.

SNOW depths remain deep in Eagle River. 20 inches on average.

Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS Trails) reports shows the following trails groomed over the last 24 hours

  • Heading north from the groomer barn up 10/13
  • Trail 13N to the Conover connect
  • Wisconsin River bridge area
  • 10W & 7 to the Sayner/St. Germain connect

Note good news the Sno-Eagles have a purchased another groomer which may not have the gps installed.  You may find other trails groomed.  No update yet this AM from the Trail Boss.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked.  Eagle Lake has slight bumps but nothing very bad.  Icy with blow off of snow in some sections.  Please slow down.

It’s Thursday & the Sno-Eagles Guided Trail Ride. All are welcome to ride.  Meet at 9am at the Historic Railroad Depot trail 10/13 in town.  Across from Friendship House.

Yesterday was day 2 of the Sno-Eagles Weekday Away in Florence.  We left The Doll House Bed & Breakfast at 9:30 am heading through the town of Florence making our way to the Blue Ox Snowmobile Club trail F2. Took F2 south to F5 which heads west & then south to where it connects to trail F4.  Riding that all the way into Long Lake for lunch at the Roadhouse which is along Hwy 139.  The trails were EXCELLENT & very smooth except 1 section of what appeared to have been a swamp.  Mile at most.  All of the trails were covered with SNOW.  Some sections were icy underneath causing a little darting. Met 2 Blue Ox groomers.

After lunch we head north on corridor 7 aka the Nicolet ATV/Snowobile trail to corridor 6 which heads east of corridor 7.  7 is a heavily ridden trail & some minor chop.  Corridor 6 was ExCELLENT with the exception of one swamp section that frozen & rough.  Rode that all the way back to Florence.

Today we head back to Eagle River led by our leader, Iron man Ron.

THINK COLD & KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!!  P.S. No evil sun either!!

See you on the trails!
