EAGLE RIVERS  TRAILS
Deep Mostly Ungroomed SNOW – POOR to GOOD

February 25 2019 6:55am  – 10 below – High 7

Official SNOW totals for Eagle River are 16 inches.  This followed by wind with gusts up to 50mph.  The groomer drivers have a tough job ahead.  This amount of SNOW on the trails turns grooming into trail rehab.  Last night saw Pisten Bully out breaking trails & clearing out road & drive crossing.

Trails are still in risky condition.  Not all breaking trails is completed.  Plus there are branches & trees down.  Add 10 below zero this morning & a high of 7 might want to reconsider riding.

Here are some important updates:

Trail 10W/13N aka Wisconsin River Bridge Trail is Closed Effective Immediately

There are 2 logging operations going on where there is a need to use parts of the trails. Trail 13N by Deep Lake Rd & on 7 near Sugar Camp on the high line.

The snowbanks at driveway crossing & road crossings will be even higher after crews get out to do road clean up.  Clean up continues & expect some blocked road & driveway crossings.

As trails get cleaned up trail signs will be buried in deep SNOW.  It will take clubs throughout Vilas County time to unbury or add post extensions to the existing signs.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. With that said the SNOW will be way deep & will have drifts.  So expect dangerous conditions.  Might be best to stay off.

The 2 one-way trail areas are 10E from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Please be aware that for now signs will be buried in many locations.  PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK A MAP SO YOU KNOW THE LOCATION OF THESE TRAILS.

Let’s give the grooming crew the time to clean up.
