POOR TO FAIR EARLY RIDING CONDITION

Wintery mix this morning.  Appears in town it is SNOWING.  Other areas there is sleet.  East of Eagle River at 7:24am it is raining.  The temps will be dropping in the 20’s this afternoon. 10′ & teens early evening.  Single digits overnight so it should turn to all SNOW this afternoon.

With the warm up grooming has halted for now.  Saving the base.

Here are some updates on the trails:

  • Trail 1N has a logging operation in the section between the Town of Washington Town Hall & Eagle Lake.
  • Wisconsin River Trail – 10W/13N is now being groomed off & on it is icy and rough in spots.  No surface slush reported.
  • Same for Manske Swamp – 3N. Both were groomed last night.  No surface slush reported.  With this few day warm up slush may develop.  So be aware of that.

Catfish Lake Loop & Eagle Lake Trails are now both marked and officially open.  Please stay by the barrels to be safe.  Reminder the Catfish Lake Loop to Lumpy’s is NO LONGER a trail.  No surface slush right now but the warm up could cause some slush.

If you are riding zip on over to the “grade” to check out the 2018 Eagle River Area Fire Department ICE CASTLE!!!!  Located adjacent to the downtown “grade” trail by the Historic Railroad Grade.  The lights installed change colors.  Check out this link Eagle River Ice Castle to check out more photos.  Darn pretty!

President, Howard Wolf is the leader for the Thursday Ride.  He will be going over to the Historic Railroad Depot at 9am.  So if you are interested stop by.

Keep Dancin Really Hard!  The trails really need more SNOW!

See ya on the trails!
