TRAILS FAIR ON AVERAGE
Very welcome SNOW SHOWERS this early morning with about 2 inches of SNOW on the ground. Currently 23 with a high of 27 and a low of 6 below tonight. Next few days it will be in the single digits during the day and below zero at night. Then temps will move up to 10’s & low teens during the day and below zero overnight. Time to Ride!
All 3 groomers were out for the first time in a while. ALL TRAILS were groomed with the exception of section of the south section of Grampa Graham/7 Trail. With the new SNOW things should be in pretty good shape.
Under the new SNOW it is hard base that is icy everywhere so be aware and slow down. Traffic is low but still stay on the right side of trails as you ride. Should be some really great riding this morning and through out the day!
Today is Wednesday and time for the Sno-Eagles Guided Ride. This week rides will be guided by President Rusty on both Wednesday and Thursday. Meet by the Ice Castle by the Historic Railroad Depot at 9am. Have Fun!
Here are a few continuing reminders on the trails:
- Trail 1N logging operation continues in the section between the Town of Washington Town Hall & Eagle Lake. Clearly marked with signs. Minimal grooming on this trail.
CATFISH LAKE LOOP & EAGLE LAKE TRAILS ARE NOW BOTH MARKED AND OFFICIALLY OPEN. PLEASE STAY BY THE ORANGE REFLECTIVE BARRELS TO BE SAFE. REMINDER THE CATFISH LAKE LOOP TO LUMPY’S IS NO LONGER A TRAIL.
Yes the Ice Castle is still up! If you are riding zip on over to the “grade” to check out the 2018 Eagle River Area Fire Department ICE CASTLE!!!! Located adjacent to the downtown “grade” trail by the Historic Railroad Grade. The lights installed change colors. Ice benches as part of the Castle let you take photos of your group. Next on the Winter events schedule is the 13th Annual LaBatt Blue Pond Hockey set for February 9-11 on Dollar Lake east of Eagle River. Check out the is link LaBatt Blue Pond Hockey for info.
