SNO-EAGLES TRAILS OPEN!
Trails Good

January 31 2019 7:20am – 27 below zero – High of 5 below

It continues for one more day.  Then the freezer door closes.  18 below tonight but Friday there will be a high of 12! And it is forecast not to go below zero Friday night! Riding looks great for Friday & Saturday.  Could get a bit warm on Sunday & Monday.  But hey there is SNOW in the forecast for Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday!!!

This afternoon the groomer drivers will fire up the equipment & head out to groom.

All in all trails are GOOD but very icy under the Snow.  Pays to slow down.  Straight away. Curves.  Everywhere.  Otherwise trails are in Great Shape!

Sled traffic has been low.  A few really brave riders out there.  Yesterday saw a group of 6 sleds parked at Lucy’s Lunch Box.  Riders having lunch.

Might want to reconsider riding today.  If you do wait until mid afternoon.  Here are some cold weather tips:

Do not ride alone
Download the “MapItVilasCo.” app See link below
Tell someone where you are going
Make sure your gas tank stays full. Stop for gas as you ride
Stop more often & drink warm drinks
Be sure you phone is fully charged.  Store in the inside pocket of your jacket.
Dress in layers

Worth repeating is that:

Sno-Eagles Country has 2 areas that have one-way trails.  10E is a one-way trail from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Clearly marked with DO NOT ENTER signs.  Plus trail signs are backwards if you are going the wrong way.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Stay by the reflective orange barrels.

THINK SNOW!!!

See ya on the trails when it warms up!!!
