EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
EARLY SEASON RIDING – Fair to Good

No new SNOW since the SNOW showers yesterday morning.  Good news is the temps have dropped. 18 right now with a high of 23 today & 11 tonight. 20’s for highs & low teens at night through middle of next week. Pop up on Thursday with SNOW forecast. Up & down temps through the 20th.   Need a SNOW DANCE!

As for the trails.  The best riding is heading north out of town.  That would be Trail 10/13. Icy corners most everywhere. Yesterday the swamps have slush spots.  Wisconsin River Bridge area of Trail 10/13 that heads west has slushy spots on the approach to the bridge on both sides. There is room to get around those spots. With the temp drop these areas should have firmed up. In town trails are more than likely very crusty this morning to include heading south on Trail 10/13.  There is Fair riding heading east on 10E which is a one way trail from the Hockey Sports Arena to just past East Bass Lake Rd.  All SNOW covered.  When the trails merges back together riding still fair ’til getting to the Three Lakes connect. Pick up the Three Lakes  trails & take a ride on what the locals call the Kimball Creek trail.  Into Three Lakes & back up on Alt 13to Eagle River.   Riders rated that a B+ yesterday.

NO GROOMING LAST NIGHT.   GROOMING TO RESUME FRIDAY NIGHT

NOTE – DEERVIEW LANE SECTION OF TRAIL 1N THAT HEADS TO EAGLE LAKE STILL HAS HEAVY TRUCK TRAFFIC.  Slow down & be aware.

Eagle & Catfish Lake trails are open & marked.   Take it slow.  Hard rough & some shiny ice & surface slush pockets still present, particularly on the turn that takes you off the lake to Townline Rd. Stay by the orange reflective barrels ALWAYS to be safe.

Some reminders when you ride. Have a Map or Phone App. Please no off trail riding & stop at driveways.  Also as you ride you might meet a groomer.   They are big & can’t pull over for us.  So pull over & let the driver direct you.  And oh ya give ’em a thumbs up.  They groom so we can ride!!!

Keep DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!  THINK COLD!

See ya on the trails real soon!!
